Add and Subtract Rational Expressions

Learn to add or subtract rational expression with or without common denominators to start. Be sure to FACTOR all the denominators FIRST and then decide what factors need introduced to each fraction! Multiply the top and bottom of each fraction by the same the missing factors to “upgrade” each fraction to have matching denominators. When subtracting, be sure to distribute the minus sign on the second polynomial numerator.
